Notes & Assignments 4/2/09
hi guys, great concept kickoffs yesterday.
your assignments this week.
as teams:
finalize festival logotypes. choose supporting display & text faces. begin gathering/creating visuals.
(some groups should email me their logotype revisions or post them here by monday night. you know who you are.)
as individuals:
design two festival announcement posters EACH. the posters must have the following information: name of festival (i.e. the logotype), its dates, location, and some words chosen from the lyrics you gathered. you may design the posters alongside each other, but i want all posters to be unique.

Notes & Assignments 2/26/09
hi all, welcome back.
your assignment this week is to begin our music festival project. you have all been assigned team members. the groups are:
ashlee & elena
vicen & alexandra
nora & gelsey
april & joo yeun
joanna j., soo min & trissa
joanna b. & chris
this week each group will find some time to meet and prepare a single concept document for their music festival. it must consist of the following, in this order:
- [1 page] festival name
- [1 page] festival concept, description, line-up, venue, length/dates, size
- [4 pages] four different logotypes, one on each page, with 2-3 typefaces that complement the logotype (at least one of the typefaces should be a text, not display, face)
- [1 page] sample color palette, 3-10 colors
- [5-10 pages] visual references, which can include found photos, illustrations, visual motifs, type treatments, etc.
- [1-3 pages] examples of song lyrics from your chosen artists that could be used to define the emotion of your festival
the document should be prepared and printed on 8.5" x 11" paper.
